Minnesota - Prairies and Shopping!

Minnesota brought us to the land of Laura Ingalls Wilder - Walnut Grove, Sleepy Eye, and Mankato. We imagined the little houses and life on the prairie. We drove through crops and fields on our way.

It takes two to get all the bugs off the windshield every few hundred miles or so! Christiana said, "Daddy, looks like we have every species of bug smushed on our car!"
Upon arriving in Mankato, the town it took two days to travel to via wagon for the Wilder's, we found the "Fillin Station" for a coffee break. It turned out to be a place of rest for a bit while we found a tow company to jump our battery. The girls kept amused with a card game of Mao while Don and Kim worked out the car details.

We made it to Bloomington and spent the next day at the Mall of America! The largest shopping mall we've ever seen! With over 520 stores, it has 4.2 million square feet on three levels - with an amusement park in the middle of the whole thing. We spent the day there shopping, shopping, shopping, shopping ....

Next stop - Chicago ... Nanny and Grandbob here we come!
