Monday morning we headed north, up Interstate 101 the Pacific Coastal Highway. It was a foggy, cool day, up the coast, around winding roads, with one beautiful coastal view after the other. We enjoyed XM radio along the way and talked, and talked ... we were happy to see the signs for Monterey and no more winding roads.
It was very foggy on the coastal road - the blue sky would pop in and out depending on the elevation
We stopped to see the Elephant Seals ... some were resting on the beach and others were frolicking in the ocean ... they were adorable

katie loved seeing the seals... the coast is so different from ours- we had fog on our rt. 101 trip too- but still breathtaking- happy birthday christiana- i was a little early before :-)
